TOP Came to Play!
Emilio and Mike Jerel brought the band members so personably to the audience. Hearing Emilio introduce Doc and give his account of how they met was unforgettable. And for sure, DG on the drums is an institution. Mike did a great job humoristically capitalizing on his 'new guy' status to get the evening rolling. By the end, we knew each member better and we were all 'having fun' together. Even though they performed their hearts out for a full 2 hours (no intermission), they left us wanting more. Recordings, as enjoyable as they are, can't compare with LIVE. We're looking for the next TOP concert within driving distance to us. Love the funk and soul and all the heart! Thank you TOP! And ... the sound team was perfect! Honorable mentions to Ticketmaster, which made it seamless to secure tickets and room. Four Winds (NB) is a fun venue with a variety of delicious dining choices and well-appointed, spacious rooms and dreamy bedding.
Tower of Power Birchmere
I have seen over 130 Tower of Power shows all over the country and this was one of my favorites.
The Birchmere is the venue to see TOP and I have made the 3 hr trip many times to see TOP there. I love the meet and greet with fans before the show and during dinner. The sound was spot on and TOP's performance was tight and precise. The Birchmere is where you feel like you are seeing your favorite
band in your living room. It's the reason fans from NY, Philly, and the Carolinas join Virginia, DC,
and Maryland fans turning the show into a mini festival.
Great Concert! Great Venue!
I was looking at the calendar of events in my area on Saturday morning and noticed these guys were playing at Parker Playhouse that night and there were still tickets available so I called TicketMaster and spoke to a very helpful and experienced person. It was a very easy transition and the tickets were sent electronically to my email, I added them to my digital wallet and we were ready to go. The Parker Playhouse is a smaller concert venue with everything you need, a nice bar, clean restrooms, experienced and helpful staff, and roomy aisles in which to reach your seats. There wasn’t a bad seat in the house and these guys “rocked it”! Tower of Power did not disappoint in this performance…excellent from start to finish!
